Re: No versions of Virtua Striker work on MAME

MAME's Internal UI (double click mame64.exe) has a working filter you can select and the majority of front-ends do as well.

Re: MAME, MESS and Maximus

My understanding is; Maximus hasn't been updated since 2009, so that's a problem as MAME is actively developed and is always changing/improving. I understand you wish to continue using the front end that you've bought or like the look of, but unfortunately, it's really inefficient to do so. MAME has...

Re: NES Roms

An easier way is to import nes.xml from MAME's hash directory into ClrMamePro. Then you can use the rebuilder to rebuild whatever you might have that matches (Source path) into an empty destination directory. An even easier way is to find collections named "MAME Software List ROMs" and in those coll...

Re: Atari ROM Folder Help

If you're familiar with a software called ClrMamePro, it might be of use to you. You can add the a2600.xml as a dat file and rebuild as much as you can into an empty destination directory using the Rebuilder. Even though this post is 7 years old, much of the information is still very much relevant e...

Re: Atari ROM Folder Help

Switch from MAME 0.185 to MAME 0.186 as Robert suggested. Now in your mame.ini there's an option called rompath wherever you decide to put the a2600 folder, this location must be set or defined in the rompath option. Robert explained exactly how to do this by creating the software directory and addi...

Re: The selected machine is missing one or more ROM

This is intended design as command line is meant to be much more flexible then launching through the UI.

Re: Problem with Vsync and Triple Buffering

The best solution is G-Sync or FreeSync hardware paired up with an appropriate video card.

Re: New to MAME, need some help.

If you're using baseline MAME that you can obtain from the Downloads on this site then it's very simple to have the game listing only show what you have locally. It's as simple as opening mame64.exe and left clicking on Available which will then change the game listing to only selections that you ha...

Re: Help w/ 'Emulator PC'...

MAME itself has support for Nintendo NES and Atari 2600 so you can definitely mention those here. They can work with MAME via softlist loading rather easily. See a2600.xml and nes.xml located in the hash folder for more information. The most compact option would be a mini PC but it can also be the m...
