Re: On 'highscore.dat'

This is something I would like to know also. Having just upgraded my Mame box to Ubuntu to 17.10 (from 16.04), I copied across the cfg, nvram and sta folders expecting my hiscores to have come across but alas, my score tables were empty :(. Would having enabled highscore.dat achieved this?

Re: [0.189] Atari 2600 Questions

Hi Tafoid As a workaround then, I think I may need to take a copy of each <console>.xml and then delete all the games I don't own to make them appear by default. Shame about snapshots though :(. I'll stick with the NTSC version as toggling this option off does display a lot of systems/games that are...

[0.189] Atari 2600 Questions

Hi All When selecting "Atari 2600 (NTSC)" from Mame's GUI, is it possible to set the default filter to "Available" rather than having to manually select each time? (btw, this pane is hidden) Also, is it possible to show snapshots (cartridge scans) in the right hand pane like you can with Mame roms? ...

Re: Default Rom Locations

Thanks for the helpful advice Tafoid. I didn't realise that the roms needed to be zipped to be playable from within the GUI as well as creating the actual folders for the games system to appear. For example, the folder "a2600" is now being listed in Mame's GUI whereas before it wasn't (having been n...

Default Rom Locations

Hi All Is it possible to set the default rom locations for each console? For Mame, this can be done within the GUI but for each console, this seems random when using the file manager. My setup is as follows:- /home/mame/..Console Roms --- 2600 --- BIOS --- Gameboy --- Lynx Currently, I'm manually br...

Re: Two Issues

External controllers are assumed to be plugged in at all times. If MAME starts and you do not have them plugged in, you will lose any special mappings you've done. One way to avoid this is to create your configuration as you want it and then set the properties of that .CFG file to "READ ONLY", ther...

[Fun] Top 5 Games

If you could only play 5 games in Mame, which would these be? #1 being your favourite.

1. R-Type
2. Bubble Bobble
3. Metal Slug
4. Nemesis
5. Saint Dragon

Re: [0.189] Hiding Tabs/Options within GUI

Thanks for the reply :). I couldn't see anything within the GUI either but wondered whether there may have been a config file somewhere.

[0.189] Hiding Tabs/Options within GUI

Hi All

Is it possible to hide the "Images" and "Infos" tabs within the Mame GUI? Also, "Snapshots", "Cabinets", etc underneath? Ideally, I would just like to display a "Flyers" image within this pane for each game.

Re: [0.189] Hi Score Support

Hi mhoes

Thanks for the quick reply :). I was aware some of the older games didn't have this feature but didn't realise save states were per game, so thanks for confirming this.
