Re: MAME display issue

I am using the official build from the site which I updated two weeks ago. A front end is the only way I know how to run MAME. I will try playing with the horizontal stretch sliders and get back to you whether that resolves the issue. This issue shows up both in windowed and full screen modes, but ...

Re: Removed ROMs

Why when the new version of MAME is released and they list all the things they've added and changes to the source why aren't removed roms listed? I noticed today for example that Sunset Riders and Mystic Warriors both had their 2 player versions removed ssriders2p and mystic2p leaving us with only ...

Re: NEOGEO driver frequency

Mame time has all the power in the hands, so do not do it because you do not want. Sliders do not allow you to change the frequency accurately ... because it changes only the first 2 digits ... and also does not allow saving configuration. So that mame time added this option in sliders, if it is no...

Re: How to supress a system message

Can you point me towards the utilities I need to compile/decompile the code. Also, if there's current tutorials on using and modifying MAME binaries that you would recommend. Thank you. You cannot hex edit or otherwise modify current binaries to accomplish what you want to do. You can, however, lea...

Re: How to supress a system message

Im trying to stop the save state loaded successfully message from appearing on screen after loading a save state. Any suggestions? The only way you could accomplish this is to edit the MAME source, locating the offending popmessage , making the line a comment instead, then recompiling you own binar...

Re: ROM Filename Case in driver

I couldn't find a answer to this doing a search... should I distribute ROM's in Lower Case, Upper Case or doesn't it matter? the ROM extensions are going to be the PCB location and they are much easier to read in Upper case.... .1L vs .1l for example. I didn't know if this was breaking some convent...

Did you know how to do it in MAMEUI without command line?
AFAIK there is no way to adjust these outside of pulling up the TAB menu while running a game and adjusting the Slider Controls.

Re: (Bug) Space Invaders/Space Invaders M Shooting Sound

This was actually noticed by a friend of mine, but if you load up the original Space Invaders (which is marked as working) which uses the mw8080bw.cpp source, the shooting sound seems to be incorrect. Instead of making a "pew" noise, it sort of goes "peeeeee" I know I sound like I'm rambling, so he...

Re: Has anyone fixed the samples for Boxing Bugs?

I have the latest version of mame and the sound samples are all dummy files. There is nothing to fix other than no one has been able to produce accurate samples from a PCB board recording so that MAME can use them. If you get adventurous, you could also put your own .wav files (named after the ones...

Re: On 'highscore.dat'

There isn't much to it. Whether or not a machine saved scores/play stats or anything else, it did so using some sort of backup, either a writable media or nvram. Many machines in the late 80's on had this. Earlier machines, for which there are many, did not save score(s) between power down/up. SAVE...
