MAME 0.193 has been released!

MAME 0.193 It’s a bit late for Christmas, but MAME 0.193 is ready today. First of all, let’s get the disclaimers out of the way. We’ve switched to GCC 7 for Windows binaries, and started requiring SSE 2 (Pentium 4, Opteron, Athlon 64, or equivalent) for 32-bit Windows binaries. In the unlikely even...

Changes for Future Releases

We’ll be making a few changes to the Windows binaries from MAME 0.193 onwards. This will only affect pre-built Windows binaries distributed from mamedev.org and github.com – packaged source won’t be affected, and default build settings won’t change. If everything goes to plan, the following changes ...

MAME 0.192 has been released!

MAME 0.192 Even if you’re still feeling burned from Singles’ Day, Thanksgiving, and/or Black Friday, MAME 0.192 is here, and there’s plenty packed into this update. At long last, the MCU for Ping Pong King is simulated, making the game playable, and Flower now runs better than it ever did. Taito’s ...

MAME 0.190 has been released!

MAME 0.190 The preservation train keeps rolling on with the scheduled September release of MAME 0.190. The Gaelco spree continues with Glass, Alligator Hunt and Maniac Square, and we’ve added support for two games on the hilariously misguided Tiger R-Zone system: Batman Forever and Indy 500. Emulat...

MAME 0.189 has been released!

MAME 0.189 What better way to welcome southern Spring/northern Autumn than with a MAME release? MAME 0.189 brings general improvements across a broad range of areas: The -sleep and -refreshspeed options have been fixed (MAME will no longer use 100% of a CPU core for the least demanding systems). UI...

Re: minimaws: a reference -listxml consumer

And now I've improved it so you no longer need the manual schema creation step. Create/load the database with:

Code: Select all

python minimaws.py load --executable path/to/mame

Re: minimaws: a reference -listxml consumer

As of d969333 , minimaws demonstrates how to expose a little-known MAME feature: slot card BIOS selection. It's possible to select BIOS versions for certain slot devices, mostly Commodore peripherals (note elision of default BIOS on second disk drive, and forcing an empty slot): http://i.imgur.com/j...

minimaws: a reference -listxml consumer

There have been some changes to -listxml output, and questions about how to use it from front-end authors. In the interests of ensuring -listxml output is useful, and to provide a reference for front-end developers, I've added a Python-based -listxml consumer called minimaws, in honour of the now-de...
