Re: Error while compiling MAME 0.237 in Visual Studio 2019

It’s not the toolset that regressed, it’s the C++ standard library. I’m pretty sure Nathan “Bletch” Woods wrote that code using Visual Studio in the first place, and I built MAME with whatever version of the C++ standard library it is that was installed with Visual Studio 16.11.3. The trouble with I...

Re: Error while compiling MAME 0.237 in Visual Studio 2019

As far as I can tell, it’s a regression in the Microsoft runtime library. There’s nothing in the code that should require the object to be copied, but since some update to Visual Studio, the queue container started tying to instantiate the copy constructor. Re: MAME REST API with JSON

Well I’m struggling to think of the use case for it. Do you anticipate people querying your instance of it? Would you expect people to use this as a component in their own front-ends or web sites? Are you trying to suggest that MAME itself should expose a REST API? A MAME front-end or web site is go...

Re: MAME REST API with JSON

I had a look at https://mame.spludlow.co.uk/ and it seems rather disorganised and lacking links, or the kinds of information or features that people would actually want. Right now, the most popular one of these MAME system database websites is probably the Arcade Database here: http://adb.arcadeital...

MAME 0.236

MAME 0.236 The big event of the day is here! MAME 0.236 is ready for your enjoyment! Sadly, this month marked the passing of Sir Clive Sinclair, who it could be argued did more to put computers into the hands of everyday people than anyone. There’s a small update to MAME’s ZX Spectrum software list...

Re: Sega G80 Raster games

On the topic of speed, I believe it’s incomplete/inaccurate emulation of wait states or access time penalties. This is an area MAME doesn’t do so well in.

MAME 0.235

MAME 0.235 What’s in store with MAME 0.235? First of all, the lost unencrypted version of Rafflesia has resurfaced, ending a long saga! A genuine copy of Bubble Buster, an early North American version of Puzzle Bobble, has been found, and a prototype of Tecfri’s Sauro known as Sea Wolf has been dum...
