Re: raiden2 problem

You will very likely not get any assistance with this unless you can do the following:
Be able to duplicate issue with the most current MAME available on http://mamedev.org/release.html
As of this writing, it is 0.188 and that is nearly 2 years of development in code. The issue may even be fixed at this moment.

Re: raiden2 problem

Not that this helps anyone at all, but ... When I start raiden2 on MAME v0.187 (don't know about v0.188), I get the message/warning "One or more ROMs/CHDs for this machine have not been correctly dumped." Which I guess means the game is known to not run correctly ?

Nope. The file in question is a JED file .. a PAL dump which is primarily used only by original board, not need for emulation.

After good dump, I may test this game again. It's a long time to play mission Q from beginning.

Re: raiden2 problem

If I interpret things correctly, I think Tafoid noted that although a specific file has not been dumped yet, it is of no real consequence to the emulation. In other words, the game 'should' work correctly, and if it does not, there might be an issue with the emulation, and you may want to consider opening a bug report for this over at MAME Testers: http://mametesters.org

Of course, it would help enormously if you could reproduce things with the latest/current MAME version, and base the bug report on that, because as noted the version you are having the issue with is roughly 2 years old, and the issue may not even exist anymore with the latest/current version.

Re: raiden2 problem

Apologies...

I had not heard that you had retested this in a modern MAME. I would not accept a report that is made with a MAME 0.169 version.
You need to use the latest binary from http://mamedev.org to play and not use any CHEATS. It is suggested, too, you make an .inp file (-record raiden2.inp), also attempting a save state(s) just before the problems you are reporting occur.

As of now, I have promoted your account to TESTER. Please heed my instructions above before reporting on this game. The developers will need a way to get to the problem (via -record and savestate) to be able to debug things.
