Problem with running Mame;

Dear Users,

I have the following problem.

I'll give my computer specs first:

Dell Optiplex 360
System: Windows 10 Enterprise 64 BiT
Processor: Pentium E5200 (2.5 GHZ)
RAM: 3 GB - DDR2
Graphics: Intel G33/G31 (Integrated)

The computer is connected to the TV via the VGA connector.

I tried running two different repacks of Mame, but in both cases after starting the game
it shows a black screen and nothing happens.

What could be the reason for this ?

Kind Regards,

EM-PL

MAME by default still expect to use DirectX 9C which is quite out of date. Without the install package installed, you'll likely not be able to play full screen. The workaround is to use one of the other video options such as "opengl" and "bgfx". You'll need to find your mame.ini file and find the "video" line and change it from "auto" to one of the options I mentioned previously. Conversely, you can add the trigger to your command-line (or front-end which interacts with MAME via commands) to -video opengl or -video bgfx.
