Egg Hunt

Music for this MAME game is very catchy, but being a Korean game it's probably ripped from some other game. Anyone know if so, and also where those X-rated photos between rounds came from?

The language dip for this SNK game seems to be backwards. When it's set to English, the "Land Here" message you get after passing through several screens is in Japanese, while setting it to Japanese displays it in English. I don't see anything about this on Mametesters, so I thought I'd me...

Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Virtual Console)

Many people probably skip playing the bootleg of this on MAME because they think bootlegs are inferior, but in this case the bootleg is better. The version named wbmlvc.zip was ripped from Wii (this was the 1st English release of the arcade version, because the 1987 English translation never got rel...

Puzz Loop, Puzz Loop 2

Little info online about this, but I recently played the Japan versions of these 2 games. The 1st game on skns hardware has cute little Egyptian characters in "Stage Mode" cheering you on from the sidelines as you play but ALL other regions are empty. The 2nd game on cps2 hardware has a wh...

Re: Final Fight Revenge

Thanks. I tried registering on mamecheat.co.uk, but it gave an error and didn't register me so I couldn't log in and comment about this topic. Searching online I found this about ffrevng10: https://github.com/mamedev/mame/issues/7314 So maybe that will fix parent/clone relationship eventually and th...

Final Fight Revenge

Parent is dated 990930 but clone dated 990714 has many cheats while parent has none, including the wonderful "Belger dancing to Thriller" ending you get for never losing a credit. Parent was added to 0.168, but cheats remained with the older set. Also, the clone seems to have disappeared f...

Nightmare in the Dark

The bootleg doesn't work unless you have the parent ROM, but I found that if you delete everything in nitd.zip except for 260-m1.m1, which is only 12kb, then nitdbl.zip still works. This is good because nitd.zip is 17MB while nitdbl.zip is less than 5MB. They seem identical, which is odd because NIT...

Re: The Hand/Got-Ya

Thanks. Both snk6502.cpp and gotya.cpp use an unemulated HD38880/HD38882 for speech, However, SNK's games at least have music and just need samples for speech and unemulated discrete sounds, while The Hand/Got-Ya have no sound at all unless you have the samples, which are huge. Just wondering how an...

Re: Metal Slug 5

Thanks. Has anyone seen a Slug 3 bootleg? The original is only slightly smaller than Slug 5, so a much smaller boot would be great if it works without the parent like the boot for Slug 5 does.

Re: Sadari

Thanks. However, Primella and Gun Dealer '94 are not bootlegs. They are by Dooyong as is Sadari. They all have MSM6295 for speech, so I'd really just like to know what that fat girl between rounds is saying!

Metal Slug 5

A bootleg was added to 0.221. It is about 50MB less than the original, but it works without needing the parent rom. Why is it so much smaller, and is it missing anything?

Sadari

Since Sadari was fixed recently to include the 3rd button, I played it and found that after attract mode finishes and high scores are shown, the title screen says "Sadari" in a very loud and clear female voice. Primella and Gun Dealer '94 are basically the same game on the same hardware wi...

The Hand/Got-Ya

I read online that Got-Ya was just a title hack, but on playing it not only is the blond girl at the end of each round in The Hand changed to a no doubt unauthorized drawing of Olive Oyl in Got-Ya, but the girl's samples which say Handy in The Hand say Hopeye in Got-Ya. What's the story behind this?...
