Re: how to skip the checks when game start

Regarding the long loading times, I think "save states" may help you here. The first time you load (each game) will take a while but once at the title screen, you will resume from that point or any point you quit the game. To set this, go to Configure Options, Advanced Options and then set...

Re: Name that Game

When I think of large heads, I think Kageki - a 1 Vs 1 or 1 VS Computer type fighting game. http://www.progettoemma.net/index.php?gioco=kageki&lang=en That's the one. Thank you so much Tafoid :). Tbh, I remembered the heads being a lot bigger than that but the fighting with fists, that I do rem...

Name that Game

Hi All I'm trying to locate an arcade game which I believe was very popular in the arcades at the time. I'm guessing it may have been pre 2000's and involved characters with very large heads beating each other up. Not sure if it was a 2-4 player, against each other or double dragon type of game. The...

Re: [0.221] On/Off Audio

Thanks for the advice. I'll try and setup a similar situation to reproduce this issue. Not sure if a VM would do but I'll try that first.

[0.221] On/Off Audio

Hi All

Any one else noticing on/off audio during game play in 0.221? Seems to come and go constantly. This may be an issue with the Ubuntu build but wasn't doing this in 0.220.

Re: [0.220] Filters

Yeah, I did misread it. Apologies. As far as I am aware, there is no way to have the UI only show "Available" detected software for various machines that use those softlists. Its only display option, currently, is allow it to show all entries that are accessible to that machine. Perhaps t...

Re: [0.220] Filters

You may want a to use "Favorites" as an option for consoles as some even don't even have roms to be audit so may not even show up if you chose to hide romless machines in settings. If you are intent on making a filter, there is a collection of "category.ini" files here that may ...

[0.220] Filters

Hi All By default, Mame lists all games by "Unfiltered" rather than "Available". For arcade games, this can be changed and the settings are saved. However, for consoles (i.e 2600 or Lynx), this change isn't saved and has to be set each time. Is there an option somewhere to set th...

Re: [0.218] Use image as background

A file called "background.png" in the root folder (where MAME is) will allow you to have that snapshot/picture dimmed in the background during usage of UI, faded in background of the machine selection screen, as an image behind the menus for other screens. provided that option is turned O...

[0.218] Use image as background

Under "Miscellaneous Options", there is an option to toggle "Use image as background". My question is, what does this do? I'm hoping this will display a background image of the selected rom (when highlighted) in the list of available games.
