Re: VBLANK and interrupt? (debugging my own code for Pac-Man HW)

I'm glad it works and helped. But I'm afraid that's about the only help I can offer on this subject. All this stuff is really waayy over my head I'm afraid. One final note from me (and then I'll crawl back under my rock): There used to be this website "Let's Hack Arcade Games" (letshackarc...

Re: VBLANK and interrupt? (debugging my own code for Pac-Man HW)

I made this video using -aviwrite switch, is there maybe a switch to change the rendering resolution of the output video? Although I haven't verified this myself, the documentation states that you can use "-snapsize <width>x<height>" on the commandline or in your mame.ini to change the si...

1) Is it possible to adjust the master volume somewhere in the options or configuration forever instead of each game individually everytime I start one?
My 'mame.ini' has a 'volume' setting, which is set to '0'. I haven't tested it, but I assume you can set it to the desired value there ?

Hi. Since this essentially appears to be a question about 'MAME Hooker' (I never heard of it, had to google), you may have better luck getting your questions answered by contacting the author instead.

Re: MAME technical problem crash on launch with -video d3d

For what it's worth: I cannot reproduce this issue with Mame 0.185 on Windows 10 Home x64. But since you state that (older versions of) Mame were working fine before but not anymore, I suspect something may be wrong with your system/setup. The only thing I can think of that might give some insight i...

Re: Please help a MAME newbie

I'm not sure if I can be of any help, but here's a try : 1. If the games (using latest official Mame) play correctly with the mouse/keyboard on your computer, but not all of them with your XBOX One controller, then this may be an issue with the controller, and it may be a bug in Mame. You could cons...

Re: NES Classic Edition

well, excuse me for asking a simple question. There was no need to be a worthless coward about it.... I don't think there is any need for name-calling here. The answer is correct: You can only expect the 'official mame' developers to support their latest official release on the supported platforms ...

Re: NES Classic Edition

Please forgive me my ignorance, but that doesn't really sound like an 'official mame' release number to me. Is that a Mame derivative (and if so, which one), possibly based on official Mame 0.36/0.37 (which were released in 2000) ?

Re: [Q] Externally modular vs internally?

Well as I'm not a developer myself I may be wildly mistaken, but to my untrained eye it looks like the *source*code* is very well laid out and 'modular', as you put it. Just because building all that ends up in a single binary seems to have little to do with it.

Re: I get black screen when try to capture an image

I haven't actually tested this, but it looks like that if you use HLSL (hlsl_enable 1) you can then set 'hlsl_snap_width' and 'hlsl_snap_height' to the desired size in mame.ini, and will need to use (left) ALT+F12 to create the snapshot.

Re: I get black screen when try to capture an image

What Mame version are you using, how are you trying to get the screenshots, and with which game for example do you get this ? I tried reproducing this with Mame v0.183 and '1944', and when I hit 'F12' the screenshots end up in my 'snaps/1944' directory with names like '0000.png, 0001.png, 0002.png' ...

Re: Mame produces scanlines

Hi, From reading your post I am not entirely sure what the issue is. Are you asking how to configure MAME to not use scanlines, because you do not know how to do that ? Or do have you configured MAME to not use scanlines, but get them anyway (at high resolutions) even though MAME is configured to no...

The minimum value is '1' (which is also the default), the maximum is '3'. If you specify an invalid value that is lower than '1' or higher than '3', the value gets reset to a value of '1'. http://mametesters.org/view.php?id=5993 https://git.redump.net/mame/commit/src/osd/windows/video.c?id=b818233ab...

Hi, What do you mean exactly with 're-recording' ? If so, Im not sure if that can be done: Ive always thought that if the code/driver of ...
