I haven't tried to use MNG files myself, but it appears you are correct. From what I was reading, MNG is simply a stack of PNG images displayed one after the other in sequence to give the illusion of animation.

aviwrite is the preferred option, but as you note, the files grow incredibly quickly, so fast that some hard drives can't keep up. mng format, as I understand it, isn't really supported by much external software, and I suppose should be regarded as legacy. But if it does the job for you, go for it. ...

Modify the inipath in your mame.ini and remove the dot semicolon part at the start of the line.

HBMAME has that feature in many of its pacman and mspacman games. Just hold down CTRL to speed up. If it doesn't work, it because that particular set doesn't support it, try another one. None of that stuff is any use.

You need to start the game (dkong for example), press Tab, DIP Switches, Cabinet. It should say Upright.

The setting will be saved in cfg\dkong.cfg - not in any ini file.


Also - tell your Windows to show file extensions.

Couldn't replicate that either. Inputs should be disconnected when it doesn't have focus.

Arcade64 also filters out entire source codes where none of the games within, are at a playable state. Nothing in namcos23 is working, so it isn't there. You'll have to try MAME or MAMEUI or some other thing to see how broken it is.

Your video shows MAMEUI64, which isn't really supported on this forum.

However, I tried running Galaga on both it and normal MAME (which is supported here), and it seems to be working just fine, afaict.

You can't disable internal artwork via the command line, as it is compiled in. But you can kill off the external artwork by setting artpath to something that doesn't exist.

eg mame invaders -artpath vcmbn

Ctrl+Alt+Esc is intercepted by Windows (minimise current window) and never makes it to MAME.

You'll have to reassign one or more actions to other keys; or Arbee might change them to ease the pain.

It has to be in the same folder as MAME, the location is hard-coded.

The only difference with my setup is that my background has a jpg extension - so it's background.jpg

I use Windows though, so maybe it doesn't work on other OS's ? - don't know.

There's a patched QMC2 executable available to fix some problem that occurs with latest MAME.

I'd say that clrmamepro is correct and that your QMC2 is in error.

1. There's no option to disable certain image categories.

2. How's it going to know what roms are there without having to audit all of them? It doesn't keep a cache of found rom info.

Ah, then MAME is probably looking in the zipfile for the rom and not finding the jpg.

It's better if you make a new folder just for the images, and tell MAME what you've done.

I don't know the answer to that, but if you store your images in a .7z file they will take longer to appear. Try saving the images in a .zip file instead.

Official MAME : Last possible 64-bit version for XP would have been 0.207, and perhaps earlier. 64-bit XP is relatively uncommon, and so not tested. Nothing of that nature has been changed between MAME 0.208 and 0.209 - are you sure that official MAME 0.208 64-bit is working on Vista? MAMEUI64 is another matter - 0.209 was the first to be compiled with GCC 8.3 (same as MAME), so it doesn't altogether surprise me. 0.208 was compiled with GCC 5.3 ...

In what way are they combined? If one is simply joined to the end of the other you can use the copy /b command from the command-line.

copy /b dsp1b-program.bin+dsp1b-data.bin dsp1b.u3

(I don't know what order they need to be in, you'll have to work that out).

There was a whole heap of breakage during the 0.184 to 0.185 cycle, and perhaps your problem is caused by that. However it is working with the current git version. I'd suggest downloading 0.186 when it is released next Wednesday and give that a try.

Re: *BUG* TMS34010 Debugger Disassembly

Fixed the 2nd problem, of MOVB/MOVE absolute to absolute showing the first address twice.

For the 1st problem, according to the command summary, the MOVE display is correct, so no change made there.
