How to create a blank HD image for Apple 2GS ?

Hi, I´m testing in current Mame the driver apple2gs with a cffa2 card in one slot. With this card i can connect a CHD hard disk image to the apple2gs, however i don´t know what C,H,S use with chdman . Since this hard disk must be prodos it should be 30 Mb, right ? Which option is more compatible for...

Re: Galaga on MAME 0.225 is lagging fire 200-300 ms

Hi digitaldog,

Do you have enabled in mame.ini the option "lowlatency 1" ?

This option is available only in recent MAME versions.

Re: Mame ROMs Not Working

i´ll assume you use windows. The command line in windows is "cmd" how to audit all your roms avaliable in mame.ini "rompath": cd \RouteToMame mame64.exe -verifyroms if you want to check a specific rom, specify it´s name without the .zip extension like this: (example Metal Slug: &...

Re: Mame ROMs Not Working

Only a small fistful of roms change between each MAME release, not the entire romset. However sometimes the rom that changes is a bios, thus afecting many games that depend on it. Please check if the roms that are not working for you are correct using the comand line. For example, to verify the rom ...

Re: Nightmare in the Dark

mmmm,

That looks like to me somewhat a "non-merged" rom, instead of a "split" that you had before.

Re: MAME on Linux does not see my roms.

Please do the following tests, Open a terminal and type as your normal user: " mame -cc " This will create if does not exist /home/yourUser/.mame/mame.ini The line #11 in mame.ini config file points to the path for roms. Multiple paths in the same line are allowed using semicolon ";&q...

Re: how to skip the checks when game start

Try to Toggle speed throttling. By default it's the F10 key.

For example the game "Raiden Fighters Jet" on first boot starts with a counter of 999 until game begins... that's several minutes without speed throttling.

Re: roms not available when running mame64 on Mac

I´m using mame in osx Mojave without any problems, so let´s start again step by step. You are not using latest stable mame release for mac. Get a newer copy from here: https://sdlmame.lngn.net There you can download mame packed in a 106 Mb zip file . This zip contains a compressed folder called &quo...

Re: Compiling Mame (for Android), Tiny build?, Arcade build?, Full build?.

Sounds messy cross-compiling mame for android from windows. Also you´ve got an eight core computer ? (-j9 ?) I think in your make command you are missing some important variables like: "CROSS_BUILD=1" "REGENIE=1" or like in this case where you are getting errors i recommend the u...

Re: How to contact developer: Driver:interpro

Most development of the interpro driver have been done by Patrick Mackinlay. (https://github.com/pmackinlay) Unfortunately, the computers emulated in that driver are marked as MACHINE_NOT_WORKING. In the driver source code there are lots of FIXME comments. In the Mamedev wiki you got some interestin...

Re: Can't create CHD for laser game

I don´t think you can use OGG vorbis audio in a AVI container.

Maybe you can convert the audio to WAV or MP3 first, and then trying again ?

Depending of the title it may be in the software list, so getting that version would be preferable in my opinion

Re: Crashing

That sounds quite weird... Try to use the CMD console to see debug messages instead of double clicking the exe. Start a "cmd" console, then start " mame64.exe -verbose ". Please paste the log so we can help you further. is it really supported in Windows 10 an old chipset like Int...

Re: <mymame>.ini hack: The Dirty Hex Bits

That harassing attitude is totally unneeded. We are not enemies. I can debate with you the topic hex editting mame vs using command line parameters, but not with that attitude. This is a help forum after all and ideas are debated, not fighted. Sure you can have multiple mame.ini files doing that hex...

wtf hilarious nonsense is that answer. You didn´t understand any written point from my side.

If you think it´s better to hex edit mame binary instead of using parameters keep it for you.

Re: <mymame>.ini hack: The Dirty Hex Bits

This is much easier to achieve if you use command line parameters, because these take precedence over the main config file "mame.ini". Most config options present in mame.ini can be overridden with parameters when executing the mame binary. So no need for multiple mame.ini files. Instead y...

Hi Jms, Experiment with different video output modes. Launch MAME from the terminal " cmd " with these parameters to experiment: -video bgfx -video d3d -video opengl -video gdi (last resort! very limited in functionality) When you find the option that gives you the best performance you can...

Re: Console Roms and Save States

i think you are overwriting the same slot for save states using different games. Savestates have a "slot position", so when you load game (A), and then hit shift-F7 theres a menu that says "Select position to save to" for example type "1". Now savestate from game (A) is...

Re: Console Roms and Save States

In case of doubt you can use the source: ./mame64 lynx -ls lynx lynx.cpp Now check the driver "lynx.cpp" https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/src/mame/drivers/lynx.cpp Scroll down to the end and you will see the driver flags (line 205): CONS( 1989, lynx, 0, 0, lynx, lynx, lynx_state...

Re: Atari Lynx Emulation on Mame

Hi Graham, I tested Atari Lynx and it works. I played a few minutes the popular game TOKI. First you need the proper bios rom: "lynx.zip" in your "roms" directory. MD5 (lynx.zip) = fdacb0b66a149052be4e4ed64418a4b2 ./mame64 -verifyroms lynx lynx : lynx.bin (512 bytes) - NEEDS REDU...

This bug is related to current stable libsdl v2.0.9 version. I compiled SDL2 from current GIT source and now SDLmame for mac does not crash and gamepad works perfectly. So in the end this bug was not related to Mame itself... The good thing is that in the next SDL2 version this bug is going t...

Xbox One gamepad crashes with Floating Point exception 8 error

Hi all, SDLMame is crashing in my mac if i connect an Xbox One bluetooth gamepad with this error: Floating Point Exception: 8 . I tried to get more debug info about the crash using "-verbose" but no relevant extra info appeared. This Xbox gamepad is model 1708 and it connects via bluetooth...
