Re: RQ: Disable solid alpha-blended tiles for Sexy Parodius (konamigx.cpp)

Actually, reporting bugs on known issues (konamigx.cpp driver has inperfect graphics and sound flags) is not permitted. Please be mindful of pushing people to mametesters.org that they need to respect the reporting rules: https://mametesters.org/rules.html Ah. I didn't realize the emulation for thi...

Re: RQ: Disable solid alpha-blended tiles for Sexy Parodius (konamigx.cpp)

The question is whether this happened on the real hardware as well (so it's a bug in the game and not in mame, and it needs to stay this way as it accurately emulates the real thing), or whether this only happens in mame and not on the real hardware (which makes it a bug in mame and it needs to be l...

Re: How to activate HSLS filters when loading the ROM ?

Does MAME give an error message when you run it from the commandline ? If so, that might provide some insight into what is going wrong here.

Re: Rush 2049 strange freeze in attract mode

For what it's worth, I can reproduce this issue on my setup. The game does indeed appear to freeze the second time the title screen appears in attract mode. The question is whether this happened on the real hardware as well (so it's a bug in the game and not in mame), or whether this only happens in...

Re: Neogeo doesn't work in new versions

There nothing missing. New mame versions does't read neogeo bios. Same bios file, in 0.190, works corectly From the url posted previously, which explains the situation but you chose not to read : https://docs.mamedev.org/usingmame/commonissues.html#missing-roms Why does MAME report “missing files” ...

Re: Querying rom inputs & sniffing rom memory

DISCLAIMER: I haven't actually looked at the MAME code. I have no idea about 1.), but I guess that parts of 2.) should be in the realm of possibilities? Some games/machines in MAME already support 'highscore saving' which specifically saves the highscore to your disk for later retrieval on the next ...

Re: ROMs Directory Structure Question/Suggestion

Well, if you compile from source on Linux (or install the binary package provided by your distro), I can see how you may have some more difficulty in figuring out how to setup MAME. However, I believe that the autoconfiguration magic you are looking for is too hard to implement (reliably), and perso...

Re: ROMs Directory Structure Question/Suggestion

Maybe I'm missing something here, but... When you download and unpack the official MAME self extracting archive, it creates multiple directories for you. One of these is called 'roms'. Is it really that hard to understand that the roms go in the directory named 'roms' ? What am I missing here ?

Re: Verifyroms?

There are many tutorials on it's usage to be found online, just search for them. One of the many that I found is here : http://mame.3feetunder.com/clrmamepro-quick-start-guide/ Just make sure you have a backup of your ROMs before you start messing around with them. If I recall correctly, the 'file' ...
