Re: Can't create CHD for laser game

I don´t think you can use OGG vorbis audio in a AVI container.

Maybe you can convert the audio to WAV or MP3 first, and then trying again ?

Depending of the title it may be in the software list, so getting that version would be preferable in my opinion

Re: Crashing

That sounds quite weird... Try to use the CMD console to see debug messages instead of double clicking the exe. Start a "cmd" console, then start " mame64.exe -verbose ". Please paste the log so we can help you further. is it really supported in Windows 10 an old chipset like Int...

Re: <mymame>.ini hack: The Dirty Hex Bits

That harassing attitude is totally unneeded. We are not enemies. I can debate with you the topic hex editting mame vs using command line parameters, but not with that attitude. This is a help forum after all and ideas are debated, not fighted. Sure you can have multiple mame.ini files doing that hex...

Re: <mymame>.ini hack: The Dirty Hex Bits

wtf hilarious nonsense is that answer. You didn´t understand any written point from my side.

If you think it´s better to hex edit mame binary instead of using parameters keep it for you.

Re: <mymame>.ini hack: The Dirty Hex Bits

This is much easier to achieve if you use command line parameters, because these take precedence over the main config file "mame.ini". Most config options present in mame.ini can be overridden with parameters when executing the mame binary. So no need for multiple mame.ini files. Instead y...

Re: Newer MAME versions lag to load in Windows 10

Hi Jms, Experiment with different video output modes. Launch MAME from the terminal " cmd " with these parameters to experiment: -video bgfx -video d3d -video opengl -video gdi (last resort! very limited in functionality) When you find the option that gives you the best performance you can...

Re: Console Roms and Save States

i think you are overwriting the same slot for save states using different games. Savestates have a "slot position", so when you load game (A), and then hit shift-F7 theres a menu that says "Select position to save to" for example type "1". Now savestate from game (A) is...

Re: Console Roms and Save States

In case of doubt you can use the source: ./mame64 lynx -ls lynx lynx.cpp Now check the driver "lynx.cpp" https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/src/mame/drivers/lynx.cpp Scroll down to the end and you will see the driver flags (line 205): CONS( 1989, lynx, 0, 0, lynx, lynx, lynx_state...

Re: Atari Lynx Emulation on Mame

Hi Graham, I tested Atari Lynx and it works. I played a few minutes the popular game TOKI. First you need the proper bios rom: "lynx.zip" in your "roms" directory. MD5 (lynx.zip) = fdacb0b66a149052be4e4ed64418a4b2 ./mame64 -verifyroms lynx lynx : lynx.bin (512 bytes) - NEEDS REDU...

Re: Xbox One gamepad crashes with Floating Point exception 8 error

This bug is related to current stable libsdl v2.0.9 version. I compiled SDL2 from current GIT source and now SDLmame for mac does not crash and gamepad works perfectly. So in the end this bug was not related to Mame itself... The good thing is that in the next SDL2 version this bug is going t...
