[0.189] Hi Score Support

Hi All I've noticed that some games (i.e Bubble Bobble) don't save the hi score by default. To get around this, I have enabled "Automatic save/restore" under State/Playback Options. However, this doesn't seem to apply to Hellfire. Is this a bug as I would have thought this should have work...

Loading Roms (mame and consoles, etc)

Has it ever been considered that roms (arcade or consoles, etc) could be loaded from the context menu? Currently, it seems very hit and miss if I can get a game running via the softlist (the name has to be exact) but I'm more successful using Mame's builtin file manager. To simplify this process, co...

[0.175] Settings Lost

Hi I've noticed a few times now (Windows version) that remapped buttons don't seem to hold. Whilst running Mame, everything is ok and even closing and re-opening Mame (within a few minutes of making changes) seems to be ok too. It seems that if Mame has been left for long periods of time (maybe a da...

Re: Updating Mame on each release

I'm only using a simple "Gameware" joypad (just the one). Nothing fancy but does the job :). See screenshot below.

All that needed doing was to re-assign the up and down directions again.

Re: Updating Mame on each release

Does the issue with joypad is related to joypad called joy1 joy2 then joy3 joy4 How did you fixed it? I may have the same issue :) :D Probably related to https://www.reddit.com/r/MAME/comments/4s963e/controller_assignment_issues_in_175_on_a_mac/ In my case, the up and down directions didn't work (w...

Re: Updating Mame on each release

Hi gabriel.klein I'm already using Ubuntu and as you mentioned, Mame works a treat with repositories :). I'm currently running Mame on 2 platforms (Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 7) using a shared "Mame" folder (for roms, snaps, etc). Was having a few issues with joypads in Ubuntu but that seems...

Re: [0.176] Loading console roms

Thanks for the tip. May I ask how you know what name to call this rom? (so I don't have to keep asking here for other roms). It has got further by loading something now (Insert Game) but is complaining about the rom which may be the reason.

Re: [0.176] Hiding Clone Roms

In MAME's Internal UI you can go into custom and use an add filter option where you'll see Parents is a selection choice. From there you can have any combination of filters utilized which should achieve exactly what you want. The UI maintainer should simply take the parents option and slap it on th...
