Master's Fury

YES! The upgrade/sequel to the awesomely bad Dragon Master will be working in 0.227. Bad it may be, but Dragon Master's level with the rainstorm and the castle nestled in the hills is awesomely atmospheric. Even cheap Korean SF knockoffs can pull off a winner now and then. Now that it's working, may...

Level Selection

I'm highly anticipating 0.227 and am slowly going through all games from A-Z including many I've never tried before. Latest oddity is Namco's 1981 Warp & Warp, which was licensed to Rock-Ola (who dropped the & for some reason). Trying the clone revealed that it has a high score table while t...

This company's games and their status in MAME is weird. Mr. TNT is a licensed clone of Techstar's Gorkans with graphics and sounds changed but the same gameplay, yet TNT is the parent in MAME. Eggor is a clone of Techstar's Eyes with eyes changed to birds, yet it isn't even considered a clone in MAM...

Model 2A

Been trying Model 2 games lately, and some of them work well, if not well enough to be marked as working yet. The awesome Dynamite Cop/Deka 2 was the only game released in all 3 versions, 2A-2B-2C, and the 2A is the parent, which is good because 2B and 2C are MUCH slower. However, the 2 Psikyo games...

Funky Jet

I don't know if this is common knowledge (I can't find mention on the web), but only the Japan clone really works properly. The 2 World sets don't allow you to punch up or down, only sideways, which makes the game much harder because punching up or down is essential to killing enemies. I'm not sure ...

Opa Opa

Odd I never realized this game's clone, opaopan, works without the parent ROM. It's much smaller than the parent because it's unprotected. Funny how some unencrypted clones work without their parent and some still need them.

Air Walkers

I played this game for the first time today, and I don't understand why it's marked as not working. It runs slow because Model 2 emulation isn't optimized in MAME, but I played a full 4-quarter game (plus halftime show with mascot), and everything seemed OK except for graphics being a bit shaky main...

Re: Ripped Amstrad music

I played through Spider and the ending says "Very Good!, You Did the Game. Now Enjoy the Images." Then you get images of the same 5 cars you saw after winning the first 5 rounds and the 5 "Special" rounds which just reuse the same bug graphics and bosses from the previous rounds ...

Winning Spike

Haven't tried this volleyball game in a long time. I remember it wasn't really playable because part of the playfield was blacked out due to unemulated protection, but upon playing it recently I noticed that no longer seems to happen. The only minor problem I see is after you win or lose the results...

Ripped Amstrad music

At least 3 games, Twins, Spider, and Hot Blocks, have the same maddening music playing which apparently was ripped from several Spanish Amstrad games, which makes sense because all 3 Mame games are by Spanish companies (Ecogames, Buena Vision, Nix). I wonder how many others there might be. Also, Spi...
