What are people using and what interface for the games without simple button inputs, like the track ball of centipede, or the rotary controllers, like tron

I'm not sure if this counts as 'unusual' or not, but I have an X-Arcade Tankstick [1], which includes a trackball (and two regular sticks plus buttons).

And although I don't own them, over at ultimarc they seem to sell a (USB) lightgun [2], and spinners [3] meant for use when building your own cabinet.

I second that, X-Arcade is pretty sweet. Sticks have a bit too much action but you can always install preferred since it's easy to maintain.
