3 MAME Errors

Hello,

Recently I have been having trouble running MAME. When I try to run the command line version, I get the following errors:

Unable to create the Direct3D device (8876086C)
Unable to initialize Direct3D 9
Fatal error: Unable to complete window creation

I did a fresh install of 194 on my desktop and it works. I copied the entire directory to my arcade harddrive (usb - it is the same letter everytime) and I get the same errors on the USB drive.

Can anybody help with my I would get those errors on the USB drive and not on my desktop?

Thanks,
Jim

That error usually means you need to install DirectX, though I'm not sure why you only get that error from a USB drive. Get DirectX here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... aspx?id=35

Sorry for the late response, but the flu has hit our house pretty hard.

I have installed DirectX and I am still getting the error. I am trying to eliminate things on the USB drive to see what is causing the problem. Any advice on what to try would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

One thought, is there a way to verify what version of DirectX I have and what MAME is looking for?

Thanks again,

Jim
