genesis driver / lightgun useage request

long time mame / mess user, first time poster.
i was able to get lightguns to work in the master system core as it allows different control types in the “slot” menu.
the genesis core does not have anything that can be changed for controller type and I would like to suggest a similar add.
i hope suggestions are ok in these boards?
