[0.218] Use image as background

Under "Miscellaneous Options", there is an option to toggle "Use image as background". My question is, what does this do? I'm hoping this will display a background image of the selected rom (when highlighted) in the list of available games.

A file called "background.png" in the root folder (where MAME is) will allow you to have that snapshot/picture dimmed in the background during usage of UI, faded in background of the machine selection screen, as an image behind the menus for other screens. provided that option is turned ON.

Thanks Tafoid. The file structure on Ubuntu is slightly different and I've placed this file in both the mame and .mame folders without success. Would it need to be in the same folder as the Mame executable or failing that, is there a configuration file that may allow me to alter the path to this file?
