Hello,

Does anyone notice a input delay in the controls for the Game & Watch Donkey Kong (dual-screen orange one) and is there a solution to solve it?

Thank you and best regards,

The original LCD games all had very visible input lag. Outside of trying to use a recently command-line option: -lowlatency, I'm not sure there is anything else that can be done.

Hello Tafoid,

On the other games, the input delay is not a problem to play. It's so unnoticable that I have finished nearly all the Game & Watch with the 999 score.
But with this one, there is such a delay, that when the game speed up, it's impossible to play because the charachter doesn't follow the input on screen.
Maybe something to reprogram in the rom itself?....I remember the Madrigal version had the same problem but before, I've just tried the one from Zophr's Domain (no Mame, no Madrigal, just exe) and ther is no input lag...

Best regards,

Best regards,

I have no idea how to help you if there is not a version number for whatever MAME you may have gotten. You may be falling below 100% presentation (hit F11 while running to monitor) causing your issues. You failed to mention your PC specs and I know those drivers require some beefy CPU due mostly to the multiple screens and rendering the artwork (presuming you have it).

You can try also with -autoframeskip (If using the internal UI, launch MAME then select CONFIGURE OPTIONS > ADVANCED OPTIONS > "Auto frame skip" and set to ON.) This will skip frames if emulation is too much for the current cpu to run fully. From what I've noticed, since the bottleneck here appears to be mostly video render related even just a couple frames skipped may indeed result in a much better experience.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer.
I'm running it on Mame 0.221, the same issue with 0.218.
Not a hardware problem, running on a Intel 8700K + RTX 2800TI.
It's the only game & watch to suffer from this. Should be a problem with the rom itself...
Madrigal rom has the same problem, not the exe from Zophar's domain.

Best regards,

Best regards,

This stand alone .EXE at Zophar appears to be a MADrigal recreation, perhaps a much earlier version that your "Madrigal rom"? I'd expect that to not have the any noticeable lag since it is not using any original game data, so anything inherent to the original data would not be present. I am not sure I can help you further.

I'm not using anymore the Madrigal version but the Mame dk-52 rom. This one as the Madrigal version suffer from the input delay...
Not the Zophar's exe.
