We'd suggest you using the latest produced binary from mamedev.org, but 0.174 should work ok for Cherry Master (cmaster) if you have limited choices.

174 is no good longer for me
(its batocera)
i got the game "cmv4"
but i think i need another version because i dont have the "stop" option

Each MAME version only works as much as it did when it was created and there is no way to magically adjust your older releases to make a game suddenly work. Sorry.
