Filtering roms based on manufacturer or system board

I am familiar with tools that allow filtering the roms based on genre, mature content, CHD and bios requirement, etc.

But I was wondering if there are tools that allow filtering the roms based on manufacturer, or maybe based on system board?

For example, suppose I would like to create a rom set containing only Konami games, or maybe create a rom set containing only CPS2 games. Is that possible?

Ideally, I would prefer a tool that would provide me a XML or DAT file that I could use in RomVault, since that is the rom manager I am most familiar with.

ps: I already have the full XML file and catver.ini file for my version of Mame.

I use the Mame exe file and when I run it, there's an option to filter by manufacturer (on the left hand side).

Not sure if this would help but thought I'd let you know, just in case.

Re: Filtering roms based on manufacturer or system board

That is useful when you have a complete rom set and want to display only the games from a certain manufacturer. I was looking for something that would help me to create smaller rom sets, for particular manufacturers.

I was able to do what I wanted using http://adb.arcadeitalia.net/lista_mame.php

But that only allows filtering by manufacturer. It does not allow filtering by system board.

Thank you anyway for your suggestion!

There's some good advice here about how to use the MAME UI to create custom lists and XML files:

There are some MAME user community tools that actually will filter your ROM set collection by various things:

- ROMLister, last updated in 2016: https://www.waste.org/~winkles/ROMLister/

- MAME Content Manager+, last updated for MAME 0.192, and now totally unmaintained: https://mcm.mameworld.info/

- Lightspeed MAMELister, last updated in... 2016? http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.p ... c=150785.0
