Crashing

I am running the latest version of Mame, straight from their site with Game x and Mame continually crashes. I have gone through redit boards and created a config file. Changed video from ddram, nope, then gdi, same. crash. D3D, crash. opengl crash. I downloaded the latest version of directx. nope. Anyway, its windows 10 with the latest version of MAME and Game Ex. Although, Game Ex I don't believe is the problem. It mostly happens when I am scrolling through all games. Some have asked about video card in past posts. It's Intel Q45/Q43 express chipset. I feel like I have tried everything. Any Ideas?

Re: Crashing

Does the same happen when you do not use a frontend (like GameEx ), but instead run mame directly ?

Also, do you get a specific error message when the 'crash' occurs ? What is that message ? (You may have to run MAME from the commandline in order to see an error message).

Re: Crashing

That sounds quite weird...

Try to use the CMD console to see debug messages instead of double clicking the exe.

Start a "cmd" console, then start "mame64.exe -verbose". Please paste the log so we can help you further.

is it really supported in Windows 10 an old chipset like Intel Q45 ?

Good question. According to the Intel website it is not supported [1] (it's listed under 'Legacy Intel Graphics Products'), and they don't provide drivers for Windows 10 either [2].
