Ninja Emaki sound protection

I think I asked about this a few decades ago. I was wondering if Nichibutsu’s Ninja Emaki will ever have its soundtrack fixed - one of my fav shooters!. I played it again the other day on the latest version of MAME and the classic Nichibutsu drums/backing percussion are still missing. It should have an extra layer of drums and percussion playing - similar in sound style to Dangar, Galivan & Booby Kids.

I remember someone saying that the Rom dump is all complete, so it must be some kind of protection still not cracked.

The correct soundtrack with all the drums etc (by the legendary Nichibutsu game music composer; Kenji Yoshida) can be heard/downloaded here:

https://downloads.khinsider.com/game-so ... ouchou.mp3

I also have the original soundtrack on CD (Nichibutsu GSM) which I think the above download must have been taken from.

A few years ago, I also paid £200 for the original arcade PCB from an eBayer in Spain (I’m in the U.K.) - but he shipped it in a flimsy cardboard box protected with crunched up newspaper balls! So of course, it got damaged in transit and wouldn’t even power up on the Super Gun when it arrived. 🙄
Never the less, I still kept it… just incase a ROM redump is ever needed by anyone.😂

It would be so nice to see this game correctly emulated with its brilliant soundtrack intact.

Lots of love always, from

I did a quick search for "Ninja Emaki" over at https://mametesters.org/ , and did not find a report of this issue. If you honestly feel this is incomplete emulation, you might want to consider creating an account and a bug report over there. Just make sure you can reproduce it with the latest official MAME version first, which you can get over here : https://www.mamedev.org/
