mameworld.info has no official connection the MAME or the MAMEDEV team. Sadly, even this forum's days may be numbered as forums themselves seem to be less and less desired forms of communications nowadays and are slowly being phased out everywhere.

That said, the message appears to be something a host would show for a non-paying account, so it might be a temp measure (forgot to pay) or purposeful. I guess only time will tell.

Honestly, it seems that the r/MAME discussion channel on Reddit seems to be the more popular place.

Keep in mind that some people (namely me) barely read what is posted on reddit, have no intention to create an account there and actually go to bannister instead.

I suggested Reddit for the casual because Bannister is a dedication just to get posting privs and not good for quick Q&A. Reddit tends to have decent enough mods to keep the chaos in check at least.

What about Mameinfo.dat ? Isn't that hosted there too?

I'm curious about this too. Are there any alternatives for the sites that are gone?
