I downloaded the updated merged 0.287 CHD and Roms. I am trying to use clrmame 0.6.3 to update 0.286 to 0.287

First thing I did was download mame 0.287 and then creates a mame287.xml file

Then in the clrmame GUI for the source I use the mame287.xml file

Input paths:
Point to the 0287 CHD and Roms

output path:
I just create a directory called output_paths same with backup
I am thinking I should be pointing to the MAME 0.286 directory? (didnt want to screw up my directory if it failed) 
I assume I take the output_path files and just copy them into MAME 0.286 directory?

Now for the scanner side
for the source XML I choose the same 0.287.xml

Rom Paths:
I point the the MAME 0.286 ROM/CHD files
Backup_path same backup path that was used in rebuilder.

However rebuilder seems to run fine but when I run the scanner I get a bunch of issues. Anyone know how to do this successfully?
What am I doing wrong?
