Thayer’s Quest Controls

I tried playing Thayer’s Quest using .262 and was confused about how to enter some of the keyboard commands.

I use the official binaries from this site.

The TAB key seems to be locked out on this game as well as pressing ESC to exit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may have gotten this answer elsewhere, but the keyboard starts in "emulation" mode which causes most UI keys not to work but only be accepted in the emulation itself. Simply hit SCROLL LOCK button (or whatever button is assigned to "TOGGLE UI CONTROLS") to disable emulated keyboard and get UI controls once again.
