Welcome,

Like in the topic firts time since ( how long i download any distro of MAME emulator i get prompt from Microsoft defender not about wrong signature or unknown signature of file but about Malware that was detected in exe file. Defender prompts pua:win32/packunwan was detected and blocks this file with any means neccecary even if in sterile conditions i want to downlad and ignore it during install process it is preventing this install from completion.

Is it possible to get me some guidence or maybe do it in *ZIP or *RAR file ( since i hope there is no malware it is only auto unpack exe that is generating issue ?

Perhaps there are no answers because no-one else is experiencing this issue. Assuming you got your download over here: https://www.mamedev.org/ , one can only assume you got a false positive, and you need to tell your antivirus software to exclude the file from scanning (if such a thing is possible with the antivirus you are using). Either that, or you got the file from another (unofficial) source that has malware hidden inside it.

I got the same from my antivirus. And I attempted to download it from https://www.mamedev.org/
I didn't have any issues with the previous version.
I was hoping one of the developers would have an answer.

As a sidenote, I just saw that MAME 0.275 is available. I was able to download it without my antivirus shit-canning it

So i have double checked and:

I can download and install 0.273 ( No Virus warning ) Only prompt about unknown software signature
I can download 0.274 ( imidiate package check and prompt that pua:win32/packunwan has been detected ( block of software )
I can download and install 0.275 ( No Virus warning ) Only prompt about unknown software signature

Please tell me what is wrong there ?? My antivirus software ??

How come i get false positive on almost same binaries trought series but newer and older than 0.274 are perfectly fine.

So I have double checked with my own anti-virus and: Your antivirus software is wrong here and has produced a false positive !!. Contact your dear antivirus vendor and ask them to please fix this. Thanks !
