Keep in mind that some people (namely me) barely read what is posted on reddit, have no intention to create an account there and actually go to bannister instead.

Conversely, any time I look at the bannister forum, there’s someone (or multiple someones) who should know better mouthing off about stuff they don’t understand. Reading that forum makes me suicidal. I avoid it as much as possible.

Honestly, it seems that the r/MAME discussion channel on Reddit seems to be the more popular place.

Reddit is fine if you only visit communities that have a specific topic, and have half-decent moderation to keep them on-topic.
