Re: is MW down forever?

I'd assume that anyone who maintains such important externally produced files will need to find alternative methods to share their updates or find a new host (should mameworld not be returning). There is always a bigger fish..

Mr. Do may have to find another place for the artworks. If staying down forever.

FYI, MASH has successfully transitioned to github too:

Re: is MW down forever?

ARCADE64 moved to https://messui.1emulation.com/arcade for the release of 0.284, and

Twisty's Samples are now lost to us, but there's the alternative at https://www.progettosnaps.net/samples/

Mr Do's artwork had been down for a long time due to database problems, so no change there.

MAME Classic front end might emerge in a new place, but that's still being worked on.

It can be assumed that the dozens of other sites won't be back.

And, no, I won't be signing up for reddit, because the place is a cesspit, and it is affected by proof-of-age laws in my country. I certainly won't be providing personal information to them or any other similarly-affected site.

Well, perhaps not entirely. Thanks to the magical effort of 'archive.org' aka "The Internet Wayback Machine' aka 'The Internet Archive", we may still have some (limited ? ) access to it. At least some of this (or perhaps even all) seems to have been archived over at these urls :

https://web.archive.org/web/20251125113 ... rld.info./

https://web.archive.org/web/20251127001 ... orld.info/

But they may be in need of a new permanent home now.

PS:
If you find the efforts of archive.org worthwhile enough, please consider to make a small donation. Thanks.
